The state Department of Job and Family Services says the jobless rate slipped to five percent in April from five-point-one percent in March. In comparison, the U.S. jobless rate was four-point-four-percent last month. The number of Ohio workers who were unemployed in April was 288-thousand, down from 293-thousand the month before. Last month, the state gained jobs in professional business services, leisure and hospitality and financial activities. It lost construction and government jobs.
