CCT's Summer Drama Camp

Chillicothe Civic Theatre is holding Summer Drama Camp at Tabernacle Baptist Church this week. Amanda Harper, with CCT, said it starts on Monday with auditions for Missoula Children's Theatre's rendition of "Cinderella."

"The auditions are going to run two hours, so from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., we'll take a lunch break, and then they're going to start rehearsals right away," said Harper.

Camp runs 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. On Saturday, campers will offer public performances at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Harper said Summer Drama Camp gives students a chance to build their confidence: "This opportunity is a low commitment because it's only a week long, and if kids can succeed in that amount of time, and they always do, they can take that into their life and think, 'Oh, I remember when I did that, so I know I can do this, too.'"

Harper said Summer Drama Camp is open to children who are entering the first grade through high school seniors who have just graduated. Cost is $50 for CCT members or $60 for non-members.
