A Chillicothe man won a silver medal at the Senior Games in Birmingham, Alabama, last month. Ed Luckett bowled in the 60-64 age division for men's singles in a field of nearly 30 participants.
"After the first match, I was in first place (693 series); after the second qualifier, I dropped to third (623 series)," said Luckett. "In the finals, I ended up in second place (680 series); I got a silver medal, and I was elated."
Luckett said it was his first time competing at the national level.
"A couple of the guys had won gold medals," said Luckett, "and I figured as long as I stayed close to them, then I would have an opportunity to bowl in the finals."
