Rapper J-Hope of the massively popular K-pop group BTS dropped his long-awaited solo mixtape Hope World. Following in the footsteps of fellow BTS members RM and Suga to release a solo project, J-Hope's 90s-tinged mixtape has received an incredible fan reaction, topping the charts in over 70 countries.
J-Hope's Hope World is packed full of bright, vintage-style beats with a clear influence by new jack swing, funk, early house, and old school hip-hop mixed with modern Trap. The mixtape is a departure from RM and Suga's solo projects, who dealt with much more serious topics like politics, depression, and pressure of the K-pop industry.
Even though J-Hope released the mixtape for free, Hope World hit #1 on the iTunes charts in over 70 countries and has reportedly set a new record for the most No. 1’s on iTunes of any Korean solo artist. K-pop is taking over the world!
