ODOT to Dedicate WWI Red Poppy Remembrance Garden

The Ohio Department of Transportation will commemorate the centennial of the end of World War I this Thursday, May 24th by unveiling its World War I Red Poppy Remembrance Garden at the Interstate 70 eastbound rest area in Madison County.

The garden, located between mile markers 70 and 71, will honor the people who lost their lives in WWI and help inform travelers of Ohio’s role in WWI through interpretive signage within the garden.

More than 1,600 full-size red poppies will fill the nearly one-third acre garden.
