Wind Advisory, High Wind Warning in Effect for South Central Ohio

A High Wind Warning is now in effect for the south central Ohio area until 8:00 p.m. Thursday with a Wind Advisory taking effect from 8:00 p.m. through 11:00 p.m. Thursday. That covers Highland, Fayette, Brown, Clinton, Green, and Pickaway counties.

The National Weather Service says we can expect winds from the south around 25 to 30 miles-per-hour, with potential for wind gusts as high as 60 miles-per-hour. The strongest winds will take place through the rest of the afternoon today and early evening tonight.

We could see some scattered tree, property and power line damage. It is suggested that you secure any loose outdoor objects. Drivers of high-profile vehicles or trailers should use caution.

Other areas affected by the advisory are Clermont, Logan, Hardin, Montgomery, Franklin, Grant, Licking, Wayne, Mercer, Dearborn, Campbell, Union, Robertson, Warren, Clark, Shelby, Gallatin, Mason, Auglaize, Switzerland, Pendleton, Miami, Owen, Preble, Hamilton, Champaign, Delaware, Bracken, Ripley, Kenton, Butler, Darke, Boone, Madison and Carroll.
