A long-time educator in the Teays Valley School District has passed away. “Benny” Lutz died Sunday night. He was a former principal and superintendent for Teays Valley Schools in the 1960s and 70s.

Lutz was a member of the last graduating class of Ashville Harrison High School in 1962, which consolidated with Scioto and Walnut High Schools to form Teays Valley in September of 1963.

Lutz suffered a stroke Sunday morning and died Sunday evening at Mt. Carmel West.
