Juvenile Flown to Columbus Hospital After Crash in Western Ross County

A juvenile passenger was flown to a Columbus hospital Tuesday morning as the result of a single-vehicle crash in Ross County.

According to the Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Gavin Gibson, 19, of Chillicothe, was traveling eastbound behind the wheel of a 2001 Chrysler Town & Country shortly before 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, when he lost control of the vehicle while navigating a curve on Norman Hill Road, near Little Creek Road.

The Chrysler traveled off the right side of the roadway where it overturned.

Mr. Gibson, and passenger, Triston Tipton, 22, of Columbus, were released at the scene of the accident, refusing medical treatment.

A third passenger, a juvenile, sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transported by MedFlight to Grant Medical Center.

The patrol says both Gibson and Tipton were ejected from the car. The patrol reminds the public to wear their seat belts.

Concord Township Fire and EMS assisted at the scene of the accident which remains under investigation by the State Patrol.
