Chillicothe Man Succumbs to Injuries Sustained in Exit Ramp Crash

An elderly Chillicothe man struck by a vehicle on a US 23 exit ramp Tuesday, February 18th has died from injuries sustained in that accident.

Dispatch for the Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol confirms that Roger Detty, 76, has died as a result of that accident.

Mr. Detty's disabled vehicle had been struck by another vehicle on the exit ramp from US 23 northbound to State Route 159 shortly after 8:00 p.m., Tuesday. When State Patrol Troopers arrived on scene, they found Mr. Detty lying in the roadway alongside his vehicle.

Mr. Detty had been transported from the scene to Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, but was soon airlifted to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle, Karla Wise, 42, of Chillicothe was taken to Adena Regional. There has been no word from authorities on her condition.
