New Health Commissioner Named By Ross Health District

The Ross County Health District announces the appointment of Mr. Garret Guillozet, MPA, RS, REHS, AEMT for the position of Health Commissioner to be effective September 1st, 2020.

Garret comes to the Ross Health District from Franklin County Public Health where he has worked in the environmental division since 2008, most recently as the Division Manager of the Food Safety and School Health Section. He has participated in and led aspects of the accreditation and re-accreditation process.

Guillozet is an Advisory Board member to the Ohio Department of Health serving in a statewide consulting role, is the Treasurer of the Ohio Public Health Association, and Past President of the Ohio Environmental Health Association. He also serves on the Governor’s Restaurant Advisory Board, providing guidance for restaurant safety during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Prior to his career in local public health, Garret obtained licensure as an Advanced EMT, supervising emergency medical technicians, firefighters, and first responders. He comes with firsthand experience in emergency management and medical situations, fully qualified in all components of the Incident Command System training and application in times of disaster/pandemics.
