The Ohio State Highway Patrol was notified of a traffic crash involving three vehicles on State Route 93 near milepost 12 in Jackson County. Troopers arrived at 2:37pm and began the investigation.
A northbound Chevrolet Silverado driven by 25-year-old Austin Pitts of Minford, crossed the center-line into the southbound lane. The Silverado struck a Hyundai Sonata driven by 66-year-old Barbara Delong of Oak Hill, causing Delong's car to deflect into the northbound lane and strike a Dodge Durango driven by 58-year-old Mark Wilson of Oak Hill. The Durango traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned.
Delong and her passenger, 83-year-old Dorothy Vititoe of Oak Hill, were transported to Holzer ER in Jackson, with non-life-threatening injuries. Vititoe was flown to Riverside Hospital in Columbus for additional medical attention. Pitts and Wilson sustained minor injuries.
A separate crash involved two vehicles on State Route 279 near milepost 9 in Jackson County.
An ATV was being driven eastbound by 17--year-old Jordan Wisecup of Oak Hill. The ATV encountered a horse drawn wagon and attempted to pass when it crossed the center-line in front of a Chevrolet HHR driven by 17-year-old Zachary Daft, also of Oak Hill. The two vehicles collided head-on and the driver of the ATV was ejected. The driver of the ATV sustained minor injuries and was taken to Holzer Hospital.
Assisting at the scene were Jackson Fire Department and Jackson County EMS. State Route 279 was closed for approximately 35 minutes.
