One Person Has Died From Injuries In Crash Near Waverly Walmart

One person has died and another injured in a two vehicle injury crash that occurred on U.S. Route 23 at the exit from the Walmart in Pike County, at 4:35pm Thursday.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol states the crash occurred when a Ford Focus, driven by 45-year-old Misty Chesebro of Waverly was crossing US 23 traveling eastbound and was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado driven by 72-year-old James Clarke of Wheelersburg.

Witnesses stated that Clarke was southbound on US 23 and failed to stop at the red light.

Both drivers were transported from the scene to the Adena Medical Center in Waverly. Due to the severity of her injuries, Chesebro was then flown by Med-Flight to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, where they confirmed Friday morning that Chesebro had passed away.
