A candidate for the 91st Ohio House District is raising questions about 17th District Ohio Senator Bob Peterson’s actions after claiming he had contracted COVID-19, more than a week ago.

Scott Dailey of Waverly issued a statement to iHeart Media News saying: “I have been following my State Senator Bob Peterson's Facebook book page. I have not seen any statements from Mr. Peterson about his COVID- 19 diagnosis. I have read other articles in the media that he confirms he tested positive. Now today, Mr. Peterson has posted on Facebook pictures of himself in Lordstown, Ohio sitting in a truck in public without even a mask on. I think as an Ohioan in Mr. Peterson's District, that we should know what he is doing not in quarantine. I further think we deserve to know how Mr. Peterson contracted COVID- 19 and how many of his contacts have tested positive.”

iHeart Media News, along with other state news media, ran stories September 14th showing a Facebook post where Senator Peterson stated he tested positive for COVID-19 and was self-quarantining at his home.

iHeart Media News reached out to Senator Peterson’s office by phone Thursday, September 24th and heard back from him at 4pm the same day. Senator Peterson (Republican/Washington CH) stated that he had been cleared by his physician and had met the protocol of his local health department, being cleared to return to his duties. Peterson added he never showed any symptoms after testing positive and while being self-quarantined.

Dailey is the Democratic Party nominee for state representative in Ohio's 91st House District, running against incumbent Shane Wilkin, on the November 3rd general election ballot.
