McArthur Man Killed in Three-Vehicle Crash in Vinton County

A McArthur man was killed as the result of a three-vehicle crash in Vinton County, Thursday morning.

The crash took place around 6:00 a.m. Thursday, according to the Jackson Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Andrew McNichols, 29, had been traveling west on Wolf Hill Road when he attempted to pass another westbound vehicle that had been traveling ahead of him. Mr. McNichols is reported to have crossed into the eastbound lane where he then collided head-on with an oncoming Ford F-450 pick-up truck. The impact caused Mr. McNichols vehicle to also make contact with the vehicle he had been attempting to pass.

Mr. McNichols was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Vinton County Coroner. The driver of the second westbound vehicle, a Londonderry man, was uninjured in the crash, while the driver of the eastbound pick-up, another McArthur resident, sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was treated at the scene.
