Billie Eilish is using her platform to speak out against the controversial new abortion bill Texas signed into law last week. As Insider points out, the pop star took to Instagram stories over the weekend to share her thoughts.
"I really wish men cared more," she wrote. "I'm so f**king tired."
Eilish added: "Makes me sick how many men say nothing when it comes to women's rights."
The law, called Texas SB 8, outlaws abortion procedures after a fetal heartbeat is detected, which is normally six weeks along (sooner than many people even know they are pregnant). Aside from the short window, there are also no exceptions for rape or incest, which makes SB 8 is one of the most restrictive abortion laws in the country.
Eilish is one of many artists condemning the bill. Pink recently urged her Twitter followers to sign a petition opposing the bill, and Jack Antonoff pledged that his "texas shows will benefit abortion funds from now until when these laws are changed."
Billie is performing at this year's iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas in September alongside a lineup of superstar artists. Fans across the country can tune in and watch an exclusive live stream of the show via The CW App and CWTV.com. Then, on October 2nd and 3rd, relive all of the epic performances from the weekend during a televised special on The CW Network at 8 p.m. ET/PT. And leading up to the official television special, The CW will also air an hour-long Best Of Special on Sunday, September 29th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
