South Bloomfield Man Charged with Felony Crimes Against Children

A South Bloomfield man is facing charges related to crimes against children.

According to Pickaway County Sheriff Matthew Hafey, the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, the South Bloomfield Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force jointly executed a search warrant at a residence located at 218 Briarwood Court in South Bloomfield on Tuesday, October 26th.

The warrant was based on information received from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

During the search of the residence, Detectives located unspecified evidence showing that child exploitation was taking place.

The resident, Christopher P. Shaver, 49, was taken into custody and charged with three counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person, all felonies of the second-degree. He was also charged with three fourth-degree felony counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person.

Shaver is currently being held in the Pickaway County Jail on a $90,000 bond. He will be arraigned in Circleville Municipal Court on Wednesday, October 27th.
