Landslide Repair on SR 772 Ending Early...But More to Come

A project to remediate a landslide on S.R. 772 in Ross County will be wrapping up earlier than planned, and without some of the more significant impacts to motorists...for now.

The project that began earlier this year involved excavation and benching of the hillside above S.R. 772 where it runs along Ralston Run, between Bishop Hill Road and Rinehart Road. But as work progressed, additional movement in the hillside showed that a more extensive repair will be needed.

Because of the time needed to modify the design and the increase in costs, ODOT decided to complete a permanent repair at a later date. The contractor on the current project will be completing remaining work by the end of August.

A separate project to address the slide's damage to the road surface of S.R. 772 remains on schedule, and will begin in the upcoming weeks...and will require an extended full closure of S.R. 772.
