Southern Ohio Forest Rally Begins Thursday in Chillicothe's Yoctangee Park

The Southern Ohio Forest Rally (SOFR) kicks off Thursday, June 8th with the annual rally taking place in Chillicothe's Yoctangee Park and in the Yoctangee Park Annex.

The rally will bring a closure of several areas of Yoctangee Park. The closures will be in effect for the Donald M. Smith Memorial Swimming Pool, Bolmer Field, Diamond 2, the Paint Creek Recreational Trail/Bike Path, the Bolmer Field basketball courts, the Pump House Center for the Arts, the Pump House basketball courts, the Yoctangee Park Annex, the Back 9 of the Frisbee Golf Course and the volleyball courts.

Areas closed off to vehicles will be Baseball Diamond 1, the tennis courts, the water treatment plant, and Borland's Crossing.

The closures will begin at 7:00 a.m. Thursday, June 8th and will then remain in place through 10:00 p.m. Thursday.

The playground area in Yoctangee Park will remain open as will the area surrounding the Yoctangee Park Lake.

The SOFR shifts to rural locations on Friday and Saturday with temporary road closures in Scioto Trail, Shawnee, and Zaleski state forests on Friday, June 9th and Saturday, June 10th, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry.
