A group who focuses on private property rights, including solar farms and other energy systems, chatted with the Ross County Commissioners Tuesday.
Nick Bundren and Ryan Santa Maria of “Property Rights Ohio” said they have “been to vast number of counties” in Ohio – and that Ross County is lucky to not have attempts to restrict or ban solar farms.
They said PRO was founded because Ohio landowners have been dealing with exclusion or restriction of private rights to develop energy systems like coal, natural gas, solar, and wind.
Bundren said state laws have been passed to allow local governments to ban or restrict such energy systems – and they have seen some counties completely ban those – which Property Rights Ohio feels is an infringement on constitutional rights.
Santa Maria said PRO was founded about 2021, but is only recently getting out in the last six or seven months to do outreach and network.
They said they knew Tony Zartman with the nonprofit “Land & Liberty Coalition,” who I had interviewed recently. See my iHeart radio webstory “Conservative Group that Defends Solar Farms Spoke to Ross Commissioners” from February 6th, 2023.
Property Rights Ohio has a website, Facebook page, and X / Twitter accountt.
