Member of Farmers Market Previewed Storefront Mini-Market Coming in April

Krystal Foster of Foster Farmstead

Downtown Chillicothe — As the “pavilion” is being built in Yoctangee Park to be a new home for the Saturday morning Chillicothe Farmers Market, one of its vendors is working on a storefront mini-market nearby, to be open daily.

Foster Farmstead offered a “pop-up shop” at 14 West Water Street during Friday evening’s start of the downtown Holiday Open House on November 14th, 2025.

Krystal Foster of Foster Farmstead said they wanted to introduce the vendors who will be joining them in a natural foods market opening in April. Hear her in her own words in the below video.

“Like a mini-Whole Foods,” she said they will be offering locally-raised meats, produce, dry goods, canned goods, bulk organic spices, flowers, granola, dairy, and more…options not found in a typical grocery store.

Foster said they were sharing the concept of a store about natural living, and organic and nontoxic products – as well as community education around health.

Foster Farmstead, based in the Kingston area, has been a vendor at the Farmers Market for four years. She said their permanent storefront will be open seven days a week for convenience outside of the one-morning-a-week Farmers Market.

She said they might offer another pop-up shop before they open permanently, just uphill from the pavilion building being built.

Foster Farmstead has a website and Facebook page, and was featured in an earlier Scioto Post story. The Chillicothe Farmers Market market has a websiteFacebook page, and Instagram page

Foster explains the “pop-up” shop and what they plan to offer in a few months.
