Zane Trace Holds Off Logan Elm 67-64

Zane Trace sprinted to an 8-0 lead against Logan Elm Saturday night, only to see the Braves keep fighting back to within striking distance in a 67-64 non-conference win for the Pioneers. Zane Trace led by as many as a dozen points, including a 67-55 lead with under two minutes, only to see Logan Elm shave that to the 67-64 final.

Both teams shot an identical 26/50 for 52% from the floor, with each team also hitting six treys. The difference was ZT's 9/13 at the charity stripe where the Braves were 6/7.

Zane Trace led after each stop, 19-9 after one quarter, 33-25 at half, 50-44 after three and then 67-64.

The Pioneers were led by Cam Evans' 27 points, followed by 21 from Nick Nesser and Triton Davidson's 13 points and 10 rebounds. Chad Ison added 6 as ZT had only four players in the scoring column.

Logan Elm was led by Isaac Ward's 21 points, followed by Gabe Chalfin's 18, and 12 from Jason Sailor.

ZT won the rebounding battle against the undersized Braves, 25-20. The Braves committed 7 turnovers and Zane Trace had 4.

The Pioneers improve to (9-1) overall and Logan Elm drops to (4-5). Zane Trace puts their (6-0) SVC mark on the line at (6-0) Adena on Friday, in a game to be broadcast on 94 Country WKKJ.
