Lady Mustangs Rally Past Adena 47-40

Westfall's Lady Mustangs outscored Adena 12-5 in the fourth quarter, knocking-off the SVC third place Lady Warriors 47-40, Tuesday at Westfall High School.

The Lady Mustangs darted-out to leads of 5-0 and 15-10, before Adena pulled even at 15-15 at the end of the first quarter. Adena took a 28-23 lead into the locker-room at halftime and held their biggest lead at 35-27 midway through the third period. That's when Westfall caught fire as Adena went cold. The Lady Mustangs finished on an 8-0 run to end the quarter 35-35 then continued through to the final of 47-40.

Westfall had 11 points each from Marissa Mullins, Marcy Dudgeon and Gabby Patete. Mullins also had 12 rebounds and two blocked shots. Mahaley Farmer dded 9 points and Kylee Henry with 4.

Hannah Stark led Adena with 16 points, Jadyn Smith added 9, Emma Cuury 6, 4 from Cheyenne Ater, 2 each from Sydney Fogelsong and Makaela Lovely and 1 from Abby French. Ater led with 7 rebounds.

Westfall shot 20/46 from the field for 43%- including 3/14 from the arc and 4/10 at the foul line. Adena was only 16/53 from the field for just 30%- including 4/8 from the arc and 5/8 at the foul line.

Westfall won the rebounding battle 32-26, and had 13 turnovers to Adena's 11.

Adena drops to (5-3/9-6) while Westfall improves to (4-4/6-7).
