Mango and has officially been with RCHS long enough that they feel comfortable saying he's not just passing through.
He arrived together nearly a month ago, and somehow nobody has come looking for approximately 100 pounds of dog.
Mango is 4 years old. He is friendly, has done well with other dogs here, and tested positive for Lyme disease when he arrived. He's completed treatment and have spent the last few weeks settling into shelter life. Well... mostly.
Mango took the whole "shelter stress" thing a little personally and decided chewing on himself was a reasonable coping mechanism. The good news is that he's healing nicely, but the better news would be getting him out of here before he decides to take up any new hobbies.
He had a few lumps and bumps that will be addressed during his neuter appointment, but otherwise he's healthy, happy, and very ready for homes of their own.
As for breed? We still don't know. Lab mix? Maybe. Great Dane mix? Possibly. Small horse? We're not ruling anything out.
What we do know is that he's a large, lovable dog who have spent nearly a month wondering why they keep getting overlooked.
If you've been thinking about adding a big dog to your family, we currently have enough dog available to make a very serious commitment to that goal.
Stop by and meet Mango. He's running out of patience with shelter life, and honestly, we don't blame him.
Their adoption fee is sponsored for an appropriate family.
