Meet Moana!
Somewhere along the way, the staff at the Ross County Humane Society decided they are having a Disney moment, and Moana got her name. They say it suits her because she's every bit as sweet as she is adorable.
Moana is an estimated 4 years old, weighs about 50 pounds, and appears to be some sort of retriever mix. As always, that's just their best guess. Unless dogs start arriving with DNA results tucked under their collars, they'll never know for sure.
She has done well during her dog evaluations. She showed polite interest in the other dogs without being overbearing, maintained relaxed body language, and had appropriate interactions throughout. She seems to have a nice balance of being social without feeling the need to be the center of attention.
Moana did test positive for Lyme disease, which is something unfortunately sees quite often in our area. The good news is she's already receiving treatment with doxycycline and is expected to do very well.
If you're looking for a dog who has left the puppy antics behind but still has plenty of adventures ahead of her, Moana is worth a visit. She's sweet, beautiful, and has the kind of gentle expression that makes you smile the moment you meet her.
Come meet Moana. She's ready to write the next chapter of her story with a family of her own.
