It prompted a discussion between the cast on our DC show... my partner said her show was "Sex In The City." Our Producer said "Gossip Girl."
I said BIG TIME RUSH, from Nickelodeon, now living on NETFLIX.
I admit, I felt kinda childish for saying this show, but, truth is, I really love live music, I love pop music, and I love these guys. In fact, and you might laugh, their music was ALL OVER my 2021 Spring Break Road Trip Playlist... and as Kyla, my Senior-who-skipped-her-Junior-Year-In-High-School-17-year-old-daughter drove home from Michigan State University, we sang song after song from BTR... including COVER GIRL, WORLD WIDE, COUNT ON YOU featuring Jordin Sparks, IF I RULED THE WORLD featuring Iyaz... WINDOWS DOWN and more... so many moments...
Moments. That's what life is all about.

Truth is, BIG TIME RUSH have been the part of many moments for me and my daughter.
She fell in love with this show, the music, and the band. We both share that love... for music and artists... and we've been to concerts, movies, intimate studio hangs and other performances. I've interviewed the guys... and my friend and colleague LEE LEIPSNER, who then, worked for their former label, COLUMBIA, a division of SONY, who really made all of these great things possible, was the real-life producer and champion for this band.
They were and are a great band. I'm pretty sure they're still a band... although doing solo projects and whom are on sort of a hiatus...
... but I'm a believer. I'm pretty sure they'll be back, especially now that so many new people - and fans - are getting to see the TV show on NETFLIX. The show brings families together, yet, isn't so 'safe' that it's uncool for the kids. Each member is musically talented, they have great songs and a bit of a catalogue on from which to build on for the future... and I'm pretty sure we're going to see 'em make some new music. Soon. Thanks to the NETFLIX exposure. Just a hunch... a feeling. But I'd not be surprised if it happens!

Anyway... the guys are great. The music is great. The show was great. My daughter loved - and I'd bet still does - love 'em. And I'm a fan, too. So yeah, I'd live for a year in the tv show. I admit it. And I'm okay with whatever you feel about it...
... because I'm living life BIG TIME.
