#GONE: The things we've lost at the office as we've returned to work...

Back to work. Some people are excited to get back to the daily grind of working at an actual office or workplace.

Others... not so much.

But one thing is for certain: People have been vaccinated, COVID-19 seems to be under some degree of control, and the world is getting back to normal. And that means people are getting back to work... in an actual office or in the workplace.

However, it seems, at least here, in this workspace, some stuff won't be coming back as a part of the new normal.

I take it that it's become a workplace "best practice" post COVID to eliminate places where people may gather or congregate. Places like the office coffee machine, or the office water dispenser. I've heard of even other places "decommissioning" kitchen areas and collaboration spaces in an effort to prevent the spread of disease, COVID and the like.

That's right, ya'll. No more free coffee. No more water to refill your reusable water bottles with.

I get it. I understand the why. Although, I do think employees and employers could have worked together to mitigate the 'things' which might have caused some sort of gatherings which could spread some nasty around.

I'm assuming more post-covid changes are coming. I guess we'll cross that bridge when we get there... but I do know this... all we can do is control what we can control...

... and for me, now, that means more coffee runs before the show... and more orders of bottled water which I'll bring to the office and stash in the kitchen's fridge...

.... until that goes away, too.

Thanks, Covid. Thanks.
