This Man Let 70 Protestors Into His House So They Wouldn't Get Arrested!

There have been protests all over the country fighting for justice for the death of George Floyd. However, many cities have implemented curfews to keep protestors off the street and one man in Washington D.C. sheltered 70 protestors until curfew was lifted at 6am. These protestors were allegedly corralled and pepper-sprayed by police, when Rahul Dubey stepped in and opened up his home to as many protestors as he could so they wouldn't get arrested. One protestor who was inside the house, live tweeted the whole situation about what's happening inside and outside the house until 6am when they were able to get home safe, which you can see below:

Rahul Dubey talked to Kristen Powers about his decision to let the protestors inside of his house.

"It was about 8:30pm when I was sitting outside and saw police set up a brigade on 15 St. and Swann St. that turned into a holding area. People started sitting on his porch and asked if they could charge their phone and use his bathroom. Then police started pushing the group down the street and firing chemicals, creating a frantic bottleneck that sent them scrambling for safety. It was human tsunami. I was hanging on my railing yelling, ‘Get in the house! Get in the house!”

The protestors filled all three floors of his house and into his backyard. Rudy promised to let them stay “as long as it takes.” In the morning when it was safe for the protestors to go home, Rahul made a speech telling them to "get home safe, get some rest, talk to each other, make sure to take care of them. That's mental health, strength, and go out there and rise peacefully with intelligence and make a solid argument.
